LONDON MARKETS. HIGH COMMISSIONER'S REPORT. ! The Department of Agriculture has received the following cablegram dated the 13th inst., from the Higii Commissioner for New Zealand, London. Australian: Salted, 164/ to 166/ up to 168/ (166/ to 170/); unsalted, 166/ to 170/ (168/ to 172/); other qualities, salted, 140/ to 162/; other qualities, unsalted, 140/ to 160/ . Argentine: Unsaltod, 156/ to 160/ (156/ to 162/); exceptional, 162/; other qualities, 150/ to 154/. Siberian: 150/ to 154/ (145/ to 154/). Danish: 192/. Cheese.—Quiet and steady. English finest farmers’, Cphadian and Australian unchanged. New Zealand: Finest coloured, 102/ to 103/ up to 104/ (103/ to 105/); white, 98/ to 100/ (9.0/ to 101/). Tallow.—Spot market quiet. Present quotations arc:—Mutton: Pipe, 45/ per cwt; fair to good, 40/ to 44/; dark to dull, 38/ to 39/. Beef: Sweet and/or mixed, 41/ to 42/6; fair to good, 38/6 to 40/0; dark to dull, 37/ to 38. Mixed: Pair to good, 38/ to 40/; dark to dull, 37/ to 38/.

Apples.—Oregon Newton, 13/ to 16/; American red sorts, 10/6 to 12/6 per case; York and Imperials, 30/ to 35/ per barrel; English Bramley and Newton ’Wonder, 6/ to 7/ per bushel. Hemp.—Manila market dull and unchanged. “J” grade, February-April shipments, quoted at £45. Output during January 96,000, against 100,000 same time last year. Stocks of Manila on hand on January 31 were 130,000, against 131,000. Groat Britain 27,000, against 11,000 bales. Sisal market quiet, but steady. Small business has been done in No. 1 Kenya at £45. New Zealand market continues quiet. Low v er grades an improved request. Common sold at £35, and fair offered at £37 for Fcbruary-April shipments. Highpoints not of interest to anvone.

WAIKATO MARKET REPORT.

The Farmers’ Co-operative Auctioneering Company, Limited, Hamilton, report:— Beef.—The markets continue firm for both prime ox and cow beef, prime ox making 31/ to 33/ per 1001 b, and prime cow 25/ to 27/. Fat Sheep.—Good yardings are coming forward, with prices a little above exporters’ rates in the markets. Store Sheep.—There has been a good inquiry for all classes of stores, sheep fairs having been held during the week at Coromandel, Tapu, Hamilton, Rangiriri, Oparau and Wairigaro, with a total clearance at each of these fairs, although prices were not equal to those of last year. Store Cattle.—Small yardings have been coming forward, but a good demand exists for grown steers, store cows, young steers and good weaner steer calvss, also a fair inquiry for weaner Jersey heifers. Pigs.—There is a keen demand for baconers and porkers, bacon companies giving 64d, with prices a little bettor in the saleyards. Stores are a little easier. Horses. —'Heavy draughts and useful farm sorts are in demand, but aged and.light horses arc dull of sale.
