DOMINION COASTLINE
GENERAL SURVEY URGED.
WELLINGTON, This Day.
At a Harbour Board meeting Captain Post urged that a complete survey of the New Zealand coast should be made. He considered that a- couple of warships could be dispensed with and the money more advantageously used for survey work. These remarks were made during discussion on a letter from the Otago Harbour Board inviting a delegate to attend a meeting in Dunedin on March 5 to consider the need for a survey of the east coast of the South Island. Captain Post said that - the whole, not part, of the coast needed survey. The board decided to leave the delegates to the Harbour Boards Conference a free hand in the matter.—Press Assr.
