LOAN ACCOIfNT BALANCES,
A statement was circulated amongst members of the Whangar-ei Borough Council at last night’s meeting showing .the position of the several loan accounts as at February 6.
The Electricity No 3, of £6500, and the Streets Permanent Improvement, of £25,750, have been fully expended. '
Balances available in other/ loans are as follow:—Drainage connections, £955 14s 4d; priyato streets construction, £230 13s 6d; riverside streets improvement, £1940 13s 4d; hewer out fall, £299 2s lid; streets construction £1495 19s 9d; streets permanent, addi tional, £1672 8s lOd; waterworks ex tension, £lB7 17s 9d; railway overhead bridges, £375 2s 6d; and Whau reservoir extension, additional, £99 3s 4d.
Another statement showed the following estimated expenditure for the year ending March -'3l, and the amounts available on February 6:— Public Works, plus sundry surpluses, £11,050, available £850; sewer main tenanee, £4OO, £l7; parks and reserves and £l5O allowance, £950,’ £148; water works maintenance, and £2OO allowance, £9OO, £B3; abattoir upkeep and fencing, £265, £35,
On the date under review the Dis triet Fund Account No 1 had a debit balance of £5013 % 9d, and the No 3 Account one of £1 17s sd. The No Account was in credit £333 3s 3d, and the special loans account in credit £5212 Os 3d.
The. whole of the accounts have been compared with the estimated receipts and expenditure and it was cal culated that a sum of £3400 would be available for- expenditure. Of tha amount £l5O had been placed to the credit of parks and reserves, £2OO to waterworks maintenance, and the; balance of £3050 had been placed to the credit of the Public Works account to meet the cost of extra bitumen surfacing 1 work authorised some months ago.
