GIRLS RESENT SUGGESTION. SERIOUS CHARGE FOLLOWS. AUCKLAND, This Day. A married man, aged 41 years, carrying on business in the city as an agent, was charged with assaulting two girls. Evidence was given that a girl a.nswered an advertisement, thinking it was for office work. She went to accused's office. He told her he would also want her to pose for pictures. She declined his request to .undress while he measured her, but stood while he measured her over her clothes, thinking that the quicker way to get free of an embarrassing position. Another girl gave evidence on similar lines. The defence was that the man was an artist, not a sensualist. The Magistrate reserved his decision and ordered the accused's name to be suppressed. —Press Assn.
