This Day. * They were getting into an extraordinary position with regard to Power Board loans, said the Prime Minister ycsterflny to a deputation from the 'Taranaki Power Board, which wanted to .spend its money as it thought necessary. They found that these loans were being authorised by the ratepayers for a definite purpose, and then Parliament came along and authorised a Board to do something different. The point he had to consider, the Prime Minister added, was whether he should ask Parliament to waive the decision of the ratepayers.
