MEDICAL BOARD CASE. • DR. MACKENZIE'S APPEAL. WELLINGTON, This Day. The Court of Appeal is now hearing the appeal of Dr/ Henry Dundas Mackenzie, represented by Mr. M. Myers, K.C., and Mr. M"Liver, against the decision of Mr. Jiist.i»e Herdman in favour of-'the Medical Board of New iZealand, v ordering o; the appellant's name to toe removed from the medical register. . Mr. A. Fair, K;C., and Mr. V. R. Meredith are for the; Board. ■ The facts of the case were fully reported at the time 1 of the hearing in Auckland. The grounds of the ap- ■ peal are, that the reasons ' ■ for the order are erroneous in law and fact? and the Board's contentions were not proved; also that the Judge rejected evidence as to treatment received frow the appellant. Mr. Myers, for the appellant, submitted that the charge against his. client was purely and simply one of fraud. One of the leading men in England, Sir J. Barr, used the Abrams treatment. .Mr. Fair said the Board's contention [ was that Dr. Mackenzie's manner of practising the system was a fraud. Mr. Myers said Dr. Mackenzie had a whole-hearted belief in the system. The only expert medical evidence called was that of Dr. Bruce Mackenzie, a vouno- man of 33, who considered such men as Sir J. Barr and Dr. Hislop quacks or fools for using the AbTams treatment. The case is proceeding. —Press Assn.
