The news is conveyed in a message from London that Sir, .Ernest and La!dy Rutherford intend to leave for New Zealand at an early date. The current New Zealand Gazette records the appointment of Mr. E. J. D. Mac Donald as Deputy Registrar of Marriages, Births and Deaths for the Hikurangi district. Mrs. G. A. Rolland is similarly appointed for the Whakapara district. Mr. L. W. Nelson is attending the New Zealand Racing Conference and a meeting of the District Committee, and Mr. R. G. Hosking, president of the Wliangarei Racing Club, tendered on his behalf an apology for absence last evening from the annual meeting of the club. •
