Supplies of coke are now almost unprocurable in Gisborne, and, in fact, almost every town in New Zealand at the present time (says the "Poverty Bay Herald"), This shortage has been noticeable for the past two years, but is now exceptionally acutc locally. All coke produced at the gasworks is required by the freezing works, and other consumers find it impossible to secure supplies.
