WATKATO MARKET REPORT. The Farmers' Co-operative Auctioneering Co., Ltd., reports: — Beef.—The market is firm for prime cow and heifer beef, but ox beef shows

no improvement, prices being equal to 30/ per 1001b for ox and 25/ to 27/G for cow and heifer.

Fat Sheep.—The markets have been small, with a sharp rise in prices for both ewe and wether mutton and

every prospect of prices reaching a higher level.

Store Sheop.—There is a strong demand for all classes of stores, hoggets, ewes in lamb and wethers being much sought after.

Store Cattle. —There is a good Inquiry for all classes, especially male cattle, with small yardings coming forward.

Dairv Cattle. —Good dairy herds are finding buyers at good prices; also a keen demand exists for choice springing heifers, but small and inferior are dull of sale.

Pigs.—The market is very firm for baconers and porkers, prices being equal to about 6|d, also a sharp rise has taken place on all store and weaner pigs.

Horses. —Good, young, heavy and useful farm horses arc in demand, but light and aged sorts are not wanted.

Sheep.—Wethers, prime, heavy, shorn, £2 to £2 2/; medium, 38/ to 39/; ewes, heavy, shorn, 32/ to 35/; light, 28/ to 30/; store wethers, 4-tooth, shorn, 32/6 to 34/; 2-tooth, 30/ to 31/; ewes, 5-yr, 32/ to 34/; sound mouth, 28/ to 30/; lambs, fat, 28/ to 31/; good hoggets, 24/ to 25/: mertium, 23/ to 22/; small, 18/ to 19/.

Pigs.—Baconers, prime, £3 15/ to £4; medium, £3 3/ to £3 10/; porkers, £2 15/ to £3; slips, 30/ to £2; weaners, 18/ to 22/.

Horses. —Heavy draughts, £50 to £60; medium, £35 to £38; spring cart sorts, £23 to £30; harness horses, £3 to £10; hacks, £8 to £11.

Present quotations are: New Zealand £50 to £56 per ton, French rennet £44 per ton. HEMP. Manila market improved this week. "J" grade June —August shipments and August-October shipments sold at £41, closing rates £41 10s. Output of Manila from January 1 to June 8 was 546,000 bales, against, 734,000 for same period last year. Stocks in Manila on June 8, 185,000 bales against 166,000 last year. New Zealand market quiet and Fair offered at £33 10s June-August shipments, with sellers here 10/ less. Small business reported direct with New Zealand in Highpoint fair at £35 10s, Fair in docks sold at £34. WOOL. Bradford market fair, inquiry reported in matchings for Continent and America, but tops quiet. Present quotations are: 64's warped (Merino) 4/5 d., 64's (average) 4/3 d., 56's (super half-bred) 2/lld., 40's prepared (coarse crossbred) l/10d. TALLOW.
