COMPETITIONS PROGRESS. Fine weatlier prevailed on Saturday afternoon and further progress was made with the competitions of th© Whangarei Bowling Club. The recent rains had made the greens a trifle on the heavy side. The following cards were handed in:— CHAMPION PAIRS. Gribble and Whitmore beat Wolf© and Roe, 21 —18; Crane and Gunsou beat Cutforth and Maurer, 15 —13. CHAMPION SINGLES. Hawke beat Carter, 23—13; "Wilson beat Orr, 16—14; Orr beat Middleton, 29—13. HANDICAP PAIRS. Stewart and Steadman beat Munro and Jounneaux, 17 —16; Maurer and. Stone beat Munro and Jounneaux, 16 —14; Holloway and Cutforth beat Xobes and Whitmore, 23—15. HANDICAP SINGLES. Beehre beat Holmes, 21 —16. t PERCENTAGE FOURS. Steadman, Messent, Stewart ancl Emerson beat Hunt, Grant, Coltman, and Hawke, 16 —4; Cafler, Hall, Muliis and A. McLeod beat Morrison, Paekwoorl, Parker and Allan, 35 —-19; J. Finlayson, J. McKay, J. Horn and Gribble beat Beehre, Menzies, Holmes and N. McKeuzie, 20—19; Wolf, Crane, Delamore and Byrne drew with Rust, Binnie, Briggs and Wilson, 23 all.
