During the evening Mr Fred. Heath, on behalf of the employees, presented M;• .Tohanson with a very line suitcase, suitably inscribed, Mrs Johanson receiving a handsome bouquet. Mr Johanson feelingly responded after the health of his wife an.l himself had been toasted.

• The following contributed vocaand instrumental items: —Mr Angus Sutherland, Scotch ballads; Mr Fred. Heath, "The Morning After"; Mr and Mrs Dawson, duet, "We Two"; "Mr Hall, mandolin solo: Mr J. .J.Craig, song; Mr Barratt, song; Mr J. Lavelli, coinc song; Mrs Johanson, pianoforte solo. Mr Hall acted as accompanist. After an excellent supper dancing was indulged in. Mr Johanson and family will leave for Australia next Monday. In the course of his remarks Mr Johanson stated he was taking a long overdue holiday. General conditions and the advanced stage of progress on the Public Trust building allowed him to get away now. The building was expected to be handed over in about four months, and in the meantime arrangements would be made through headquarters in Auckland to carry out the work. Mr Johanson expects 1o be away about two months.
