CONSPIRACY CHARGES.
WITHDRAWAL ORDERED
(Received 9.30 ajn.)
(SYDNEY, This Day.
A. W. Bucklej'-'s charges against Healey and Patterson have been withdrawn and the defendants discharged. It is explained that Buckley had issued the warrants in a merely formal way as secretary of the Railwaymen's Union.—A. and N.Z.
A cable message from Sydney on August 14 stated: "A. W. Buckley, who was suspended from the position of New South Wales secretary by the Federal executive of the Railway Union, ctn Tuesday, had warrants issued yesterday for the arrest of Healey, formerly New South Wales treasurer, Patterson, formerly New South Wales acting-secretary, and Connofs, former executive officer, on charges of conspiring to defraud the union of certain sums of money. These men surrendered themselves to the police. Buckley was suspended for taking action without consulting the executive."
