REMITS FOR CONFERENCE.
PASSED BY BOROUGH COUNCIL.
At last night's special meeting of the Whangarei Borough Council the following remits were passed and ordered to be sent on for consideration at the Municipal Conference to be held in November next: — Subdivision of Land. —That- the Municipal Corporations Act 1920 be amended so as to provide that Section rs.'in shall apply to the property of the Crown. Bateability of Crown Land. —That the definition of "rateable property" (a) of Section 2 of the Eating Act 190S be so amended as to provide that property already acquired or hereafter acquired bv the Crown) for residential purposes shall not be exempt from the provisions of the T'nting Act. Overdraft Interest—That legislation be provided facilitating the temporary transfer of moneys from any Special Loan Account to the District Fund Account.
