Mr Vincent C Butcher, who ha§ been attached to the staff of the Whanffaroi Magistrate's Court during thd past four years, lias received notice of his transfer to Auckland, which will take effect as from November 1. :
A Wellington telegram says that Ms H. H. Reid, for many rears in chargej of the Agricultural Department's Wai* laeeville laboratory, Is unlikely" to return from England, where lie is spend* mg a holiday, and a successor -will neeil to be appointed. Mr Reid did ' goo<» service with the veterinary division during the war on the Western front, Mr C. S. M. Hopkins will fill the position in the meantime. i
