WAR VETERANS.
SOUTH AFRICAN ASSOCIATION. WELLINGTON, This Day. Mr .T. A. Simpson presided at a conference of the South African War Veterans' Association. A deputation was appointed to interview the Prime Minister on various matters affecting Association members, including a proclamation of application of the Discharged Soldiers Settlement Act to South African war veterans, so that they may secure the same , benefits enjoyed by men returned from I the Great War. j Mr Simpson was re-elected president, Major E. J. Fraser (Auckland), Capj tain J. J. Clark (Wellington) and Dr. J A. Falconer (Dunedin) vice-presidents, j and the following will form . the ex- ! ecutive:—Revs. D. C. Bates and A. W. j H. Compton, Messrs J. J. Clark, D. | Mclntyre, T. Fletcher and W. Tilling, | the last-named being secretary.—Press Assn.
