SACRIFICIAL HEROISM. MATRON AND YOUTH PERISH. RESCUE EFFORTS FRUSTRATED. (Received 9 a.m.) SAN FRANCISCO, June 2. In connection with the fire at the Hope School, California, Mrs D. Thomas, the matron, sacrificed her life in a vain effort to lead girls from the burning structure. Wilfred Ringer, the son of an attendant, was killed.—Reuter.
