MAGISTRATE'S COURT.
LISTED MAN ►SENTENCED. At the Whangarei Magistrate's Court this morning, before Mr 11. W. Ta-tc, S.M., a man named Thomas Patrick Coughlan, who had a long list of previous convictions, was sentenced to three months' hard labour on a charge of .being an idle and disorderly person without lawful visible means of support. A charge of drunkenness against accused, led to another conviction.
A second offending inebriate, George Twidle, upon agreeing to take out a prohibition order was convicted and discharged.
William Sutherland pleaded guilty to three charges—drunkenness, refusing
to quit licensed premises when requested to do so by the licensee, and using obscene language. Accused was convicted and discharged on the first count, fined £5 on the second and £10 on the third.
Andrew Joseph Mancy pleaded guilty to being drunk and to a breach of his prohibition order. The fact that, accused had been in custody sin?c Monday last was taken into consideration and a fine of £1 was imposed.
