TEMPTING LURE
FISHING FOR FARMERS' VOTE.
WATERWAY TRANSPORT,
ON REPUBLICAN LIST.
(Received 3 p.m.) NEW YORK, November 21. . The Republicans are seeking to catch the vote of the farmers, who are at present dissatisfied, by offering them a programme including a great canal system from Chicago to New Orleans. The Central and Western farmers are now handicapped in delivering crops to Europe and Atlantic seaboard cities. The transport would be reduced to one-third by a waterway connecting the Mississippi with the Great Lakes.—Sun.
