Sir Hcaton Rhod.\s has informed the Mid-Canterbury Farmers' Union that arrangements are completed to dwtiibute sugar-beet seed to Canterbury farmers before November, also tost varieties to the Asbburton experimental farm, where previous trials have been very successful. Mr Leadloy said that a minimum of oOs a ton v.-!S generally guaranteed. Yields ranged from 15 to 30 tons to the acre. It was decided to compile the names of prospective growers.
