BRAKE SHIELD HANDED OVER.
At the'expressed wish of the visitors there was no dinner tendered to the teams, and the Brake Shield was handed over fit an informal gathering at the hotel in which the winning players were staying. On .that occasion Mr C. A. Milthiesou, president of the Whnngarei Rugby -Union, said there were four' forwards in the Whangarei pack who Could hold their own With iniy in the Auckland province. He considered that Bunny Finkiyson should llnd a place in the North Island team.. If Finlayson were not chosen he, as president of the Union, would like to know the reason why. In this connection, Mr J. StanaWav, manager of the Kaipara teams, stated that, his Union had nominated two forwards for the North Island team and he considered that the selectors should give th»j conn-
try unions more consideration when picking forwards for the Inter-Island match. He considered that the Finlaysons wore both entitled to considera* tion, as they ranked equal with C. Fletcher.
