BISHOPS CONCUR.
PRAYER BOOK REVISION. ECCLESIASTICAL COURTS. X ALSO REQUIRE REFORMATION. (Received 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, April 18. The House of Bishops' National Assembly, with three dissentient expressed general, approval of the revised Prayer Book measure. The Bishop of Ripoil said they would not have order , and proper discipline within the Church until thejr reformed the Ecclesiastical Courts. The Archbishop of JTork also complained that over a large tract of ecclesiastical matters the Court had ceased to function. The Bishop of Norwich opposed approval of the revision* on the ground that he could not believe that in Holy Communion service an alternative had any place and "Whjr not an alternative Bishop in a di<K cese?" The Archbishop of Canterbury in summing up said that the Church was lwing in a fool's paradise if it thought it could get out of its difficulties by ■system of Ecclesiastical Courts.—A* and N.Z.
