NGUNGURU NEWS.
SHIPPING AND WEATHER,
The Lady Eva came in and left again with a raft of logs for "Whangarei, on Friday night. There is a glorious change in the "weather. For three days it blew a gale from the south-west, with gloomy skies and bitter cold nights, akin to winter. Now it is sunshiny and delightful to be out in and everyone enjoys it, judging from their smiling faces. Pastures are getting dried up and some rain would be very acceptable to the newly sown gnyps seed. FIREOLAY DEPOSIT. A start, has been made to work the seam of fireclay at Kiripaka. It is to be hoped the venture will be a success and livelier times in store for Kiripaka, which since the mine closcd down has become a deserted village. PERSONAL. Mr and Mrs Coe, Miss Spence, Mr McEnnis and Miss Rust motored to Ngunguru on Sunday to pay a visit to eld friends. Mrs Amos and Miss Mclntyrc left for Whangaroi on Saturday. Miss Clarke, who has been spending a happy fortnight with her sister, Mrs Black well, loft for Auckland the same 'lay. Mr -T. Snell returned from Wliangarei or Saturday.
