♦ THE ENGLISH TEAM. THEIR AUSTRALIAN TOUR. Prior to visiting New Zealand the English cricketers had a short Australian tour, with matches against "Western Australia, South Australia, Victoria, and New South Wales, with the following results: — England, 190 and three for .132 against Western Australia, 234. Drawn. England, 205 and 294 against South Australia, 442 and four for GO. Beaten by six wickets. England, 2.10 and 231, figanst Victoria, 278 and eight for 164. Beaten by two wickets. England, 360 and 121, against Now South Wales, 20.1 and five for 283. Beaten by Ave wickets. On the conclusion of their New Zealand tour, they will play Queensland, New South Wales, Victoria, and tho Combined Universities. The averages of the Englishmen, in their Australian matches, are as follow:—
