« .SUBMARINE HEROES RECORD RATIO KILLED \ LONDON, Dec. 16. Admiral Sinclair unveiled a memorial in Temple Gardens to officers and men who lost their lives in the auomarine servce. The records of the loss of 53 submarines and the number killed was greater in proportion to strength than any other branch of the fighting forces. One hundred and thirty-eight officers and 1225 men, including many gallant merchant sailors who volunttered, lost their lives, representing one-third of the total submarine service.—A. and N.Z.
