DALGETY'S REPORT
Dalgety and Co. Ltd., Auckland, report having held their usual fortnightly hide and skin sale on Tuesday, S-ith inst., as under:— Hides.—The sale was much on '-he the lines of January 10 sale. Good butcher's hides were mostly passed :n and sold at advanced prices afterwards. Calf and yearlings were, if anything, a little bettor. Ivips were firm. Faulty hides found more competition and yrice.; improved. We quote.—Best butchers, ox, stout, to lid; 50/69, 9d to 10ri; 53/58, 7d to 8d; 45/52, (id to 7d; 33/44, 3d to Gd; cow, sid to (ikl; cut hides Id to 2d below above prices; Ist faulty hides, all weights, 4d to sd; 2nd faults
hides, all weights. Hd to 3d; kips, b?st, to lOJd; seconds. 5 to 7d; yearlings, best, to 13} d; seconds, (id to lOd; calf, r.o prime offered; good quality to 15Jd; 2nd quality lOd to 12d; cut, to 12Jd; .Ist faulty, 1 Od; damaged, 3d to fid.
Sheepskins.—Market quiet, with very little demand. Salted pelts, -5d t.j 8d each; salted lambs, 4d to 9d each; dry skins, Ist quality, full woolled, to 3Jd: 2nd quality, full woolled, lid to 2d; Ist quality, half woolled, Id to 2Jd; short to quarter woolled, |d to ?d; full woolled, dead and damaged, id to 2d per lb. Tallow. —Very little demand. Good quality in shipment casks to 255; broken packages, 17s to 21s.
