AUCKLAND, This Day.
The schooner Malabat from Newcastle, bound for the Hawaiian Islands, put in here disabled. She encountered a hurricane on January 22nd. Her jib and mizzen foresail were split to ribbons. On the next day the rudder broke while the vessel was rolling in a heavy swell. —Press Assn.
