SCHOOL PICNIC.

A TAMATERAU FUNCTION

The picnic given to the scholars of the Tamaterau school by the residents •of that place and Waikaraka, on Boxing "Day, wasi a pronounced success. Certainly it was a red-letter day for the youngsters. Environment, too, was perfect. "All the world and his wife," parents and residents, gathered in a goodly crowd in Mr -T. Main's paddock, close handy to the beach, where the picnic and sports were held. The time passed merrily with races, games o.ud i athletic contests, and keen interest was evinced by the spectators in the various -events. The prize list was a long one and each trophy was the subjc t of 'lceen .emulation.
