PLUNIvET SHIELD. WELLINGTON v. CANTERBURY. ADYERSE WEATHER. WELLINGTON, This Day. The weather, which since the early spring has been a succession of rain and boisterous winds, with only an occasional bright day denoting summer, is keeping up its waywardness to the end. After spoiling the Christmas holidays it is apparently aiming at treating the New Year holiday similarly. Since last night it has been raining heavily, with every appearance of continuing. The Plunket Shield cricket match, Wellington v. Canterbury, was to have begun to-day, but there is little chance of making a start. —Press Assn.
