WIFE SECURES DIVORCE.
REMARKABLE FEATURE'S
HOKIANGA DOCTOR CONCERNED
■Lord ."Blackburn, in the Scottish ' Divorce Court, granted a divorce to Barbara Grieve, or McCall Smith, of Denham Green Terrace. Edinburgh, against Dr r George Marshall McCall Smith, formerly of Strathmiglo, and now residing at 'Hokianga, North Island, New Zealand; Lucy 'M. Scott, of the same address, in New Zealand, was cited as co-respondent. Petition, er explained that she was m-arried in 1907, and their four children were born at Perth, where respondent was in practice. They had r. country house, in addition to their town residence. 'Witness became acquainted with corespondent in 1913, but had no idea that there wa s any impropriety between her husband and Miss Scott until the following year, when he told her that he wa.s going to New Zealand iwith co-respondent. She pleaded with her husband," and relations tried to dissuade him, but it was useless. He suggested that petitioner should come to New Zealand and pose "as a sister, or something." :She did not know what, exactly. This, of course, was madness, and she refused.—"The News: of the World."
