NEW YORK, April 25,
The Chicago "Tribune's" Buenos Ayres correspondent states that German capitalists are bringing their funds <io the Argentine in order to escape the taxation resulting from German reparations'and other post-war indebtedness, They are trying to capitalise the textile industry. Although now mainly depositing large funds in local banks at ordinary rates of interest they are awaiting the re-awak-(Miing of Argentine industries. Ar prescnt there is industrial stringency in the Argentine. The Consul-General it Berlin has reported that the Germans arc dismantling textile machinery in Saxony for removal to the Argentine to such an extent that the authorities aro contemplating an embargo.—A. and N.Z.
