FAREWELL SERVICE TO-

MORROW

* To-morrow evening in the Whangarei Methodist Church the Rev. J. R.

Clark is announced to preach his farewell service. At the recent Con-

ference in Wellington, Mr Clark was

appointed to the Tai Tapu circuit, near Christchurch, and he and Mra Clark expect to leave for their new home on Saturday next, April 9. Mr Clark has been the superintendent minister of the Whangarei circuit for the past four years, and by his devoted service and genial personality has endeared himself not only to the

Methodist people of the Whangarei i district ibut to a wide circle of friends . outside the limits of the church, . many of whom, no doubt, will avail themselves of the opportunity of at tending his final service to-morrow ' evening. Mr Clark's health has rather badly broken down during the past few months, and it is hoped and expected that the change to the Canterbury climate will have the desired effect of restoring him to his usually .W.tK_

During his residence in Whangarei Mr Clark flas taken a prominent part in various institutions, having been a member of the local Schools Comnvttee during the greater part of his sojourn in the town, and he has beer, an active member of the Whangarei Ministers' Association. It will be remembered that Mr Clark'was closely identified with all public demonstrations during.the great war, and was also an active worker in the influenza epidemic of 1918.

The Rev. W. H. Speer, at present of the Franklin Road circuit, Auck land, is to succeed Mr Clark "as the minister of Whangarei circuit.
