The Prices Investigation Tribunal conferred the master blitchers today in regard to the retail prices of meat. After discussion Mr Spragg, the chairman, compared the wholesale and retail prices ruling last September as compared with the present prices and said that the differenco. at the yards was a drop of 2.(.<4d, while the drop retail was only 1.49. Mr Lane President of the Butchers' Association, replied thai in September the butchers ■ were selling meat at a lieavv loss. They could not make ; any reductions below those already announced. • The tribunal has yet to consider if action is desirable. —Press Assn. .
