ROWING
BRYDON SHIELD TRIALS
On Saturday afternoon the Whangarei Rowing Club will hold handicap trial pair-oar races for the Brydon Shield, and an interesting afternoon's sport will .be, provided for competitors and also for spectators, who will be the guests of the club. Following are the crews drawn to compete in the handicap ra'ces. —Cook (stroke) and McGregor, 12secs; Menzies (stroke) and Telfer, Usees; Steadman and M. Kay, lOJsecs; Woolhouse and Smith ) lOisecs; Maurer and Perry, A. Birch and Bauman, lOisecs; Cutforth and Kay, lOsec; Cotton an'd Lawrence, 9sccs; Emerson and ißutt, Bsecs; Noton and Woods, Bsecs; Simpson and Steele, Ssecs; J. Birch and Harrison, 7Jsecs; Coster and Crompton.. 7 sees; Pooley and ITannain, 7secs; and Munro and Timcwell, Ssecs. The races will begin ] at 2 p.m. sharp. I
