WOOL SALES.
THE AUCKLAND OFFERING.. MODERATE COMPETITION. AUCKLAND, This Day. At the Auckland wool sales to-day 800 bales were offered, "the buyers representing Bradford, France and the United States. For fine wool this morning's' prices were slightly lower than pre-war rates. Coarser wools and bellies were practically neglected. There was brisk competition fcr clean.skirted fine wool. The top price so far is 14£ d for half-bred wool from Waiheke, —Press Assn.
(Special Correspondent's Report) AUCKLAND, This Day. The Auckland Wool Sales were commenced this morning. Eight thousand bales were offered as against thirty thousand at the first series before the commandeer. The percentage sold was very low indeed. Fine erpssbreds sold from 7|d to BJd; medium fine crossbreds, 6d; lower grade crossbreds neglected; lambs, no bid, seedyi cmtchings and pieces, no bid.
