It was noticed that clinging to the- end of almost every hair of the cow's hide were innumerable lice. A farmer present made the observation that almost half the cows lin the Waikato were infected ,with ' lice in the Winter and early Spring, and also 'that in his opinion this reduced their milk yield at least onequarter. .
