MORE THAN INTENDED.

COUNTY COUNCILLOR'S

DILEMMA

ROAD METALLED TOO MUCH

Cr. Currey complained at the last meeing of the Whangarei County Council that a contractor in his riding had- put more metal on a length of road than he (Cr. Currey) had authorised, this involving a considerably, heavier price than he considered the finances warranted at tho present time. Following the explanation it was decided to approach the Public Works Department and the Marua Road Board to ask them to contribute towards the provision of the additional metalling which had been put down beyond what was intended. The difference in price ran over three figures.
