The military patrol was ambushed at Cloyne. Bomlbs were thrown from two houses. Two of the attackers were killed, several- wounded and two taken prisoner. One soldier was wounded. iSinn jPeiners attacked *he BalUnaloo police 'barracks and after nve hours' fighting a wall iblew out, but the (police succeeded in holding tiho building.
