SUSPICION BLOCKS THE WAY,
(Received 9.35 a.m.) LONDON, Oct. 18,
The "Daily Mail" states that the Government has not received any overtures from the strike leaders.
Mr Thomson states that the miners' suspicions of the Government are the chief obstacles to peace.
Some of the leaders believe that the Government intends to force a general election on the plea that the country must be protected against the continued rise in wages, which is the Teason for resistance to the miners' demands. —United Service.
