The Minister of 'Railways opened the Henlty to Bilfabong railway, which was ibuilt to open up a large area of wheat country. The farm? ers undertook to pay one per cent interest on the construction money, the rate iof whicfe advanced to that extent after <£he estimates had been and N.Z.
