CRICKET CLUB SOCIAL,
The social marking the opening of the cricket season, given on Friday last in the Town Bail under (the auspices, of the Onerahi Cricket* Club, was a pronounced success. was kept up until well after midnight. Visitors from Whangared and otlxer outside places were well in evidence and over two hundred guests must have ibeen present. An excellent supper was provided. From a financial view the function was also eminently satisfactory, a sum of over &1 being taken at the door, in addition to prior sale of tickets. Miss Freda Skellern presided at the piano and Mr H. Skellern at M.C. STORMY VISITANT. Very heavy rain fell on night, at times increasing itb quite tropical intensity. The storm was Accompanied iby considerable electrical diistuinbance". The rain continued throughoiat Safburday. •
