RED FORCES RETREATING,

(Received 10.30 a.m.) COPENHAGEN, Aug. 25. Twenty-six thousand Russians have retreated into East Prussia. A whole brigade with ifs staff crossed the frontier near .Toluumisburg.—-A. and N.Z. VANCOUVER, Aug. 26. The United Press Agency reports that (he Russian reply to Ihe AngloItalian ultimatum offers to waive any armistice terms proposed at Minsk and not contained in the digest which M. Kamcneff submitted to Mr Lloyd George. A message from Paris states that the Poles have entered Grodno, but according to semi-official statements issued in Berlin the Polish armies are facing a serious ammunition shortage and the Bolsheviks are preparing a new line on the Niemen River. —A. and N.Z.
