Following upon tiie recent rumour that the Kaiser was in bad health ithe Paris "Tribune" says that it is reported that a German crossed the frontier near Dooring, in Holland, where the Kaiser is interned, climbed the wall of the castle, and fired several shots <at the Kaiser. Another story is to the effect that ■a disguised Belgian labourer on the (pretext of repairing waterpipes, concealed himself in a corridor and battered the Kaiser with a club until the guards rescued him.
