BUTTER, HEMP, AND HONEY.

WELLINGTON, Monday.

The High Commissioner's commercial cablegram, dated London, June .19, is as follows:—

Butter. —The pr/ico of English butter is unchanged at. £16 2/. The market is unsettled owing to the decision, of the Food Ministry to reduce Government controlled butter on and after June 28 to 2/8 per lb retail. The demand for best quality Irish h good. Quotations for creamcijy are £14 5/ to £15 8/ per cwt. A large production of Danish is reported.

Cheese. —The demand for English is moderate, with no change in price—£B 12/ to £9 6/. Canadian is cheaper, and is quoted at, spot, £8 4/ to £8 8/. Quotations c.i.f. are lower at £7 12/. The stocks in London on June 18 were: —Canadian and United States, 20,119 cwt., against. 15,927 cwt. last year; New Zealand, 12,402 cwt., against 26,----713 cwt.

Hemp.—The Manilt mariket»was easier early this week but firmer towards the close, with a better demand. "J" grade, February-April to April-June shipments, sold at £58 15/; AugustOctober shipment sold at £63. The New Zealand market is quiet and prices aiw unchanged. Sellers' present quotations are:—High points, £58; fair, £56; March-May and April-June shipments, £54 and £52 respectively.

Honey.—The demand is moderate, but prices are firm. New Zealand is fetching £4 17/6 to £5 3/ per cwt., according to quality,
