New Plymouth latepayer, have recently received t_ ur rate c irds for the current year when the rates are levied on the unimproved value, and net. as heretofore, on tho ruitai value. Many holoJng land in the suburbs have received something of -a shock, whilst those occupying houses on small sections have been relieved to find a substantial reduction in their rates.
