BOLSHEVIK ACTIVITIES.
THE INDIAN UNDERCURRENT.
PRACTICALLY STEMMED.
(Received 9.5 a.m.)
LONDON, June l.i,
The India Office declares that the Bolshevists are doing their utmost to s-,ir up trouble in India. Their agents are active throughout the East, and Hip general fooling of unsi.ttloment affords a congenial atmosphere for such propaganda. It is well known that there exists in Moscow a special department for the direction of Bolshevik activties in the East, aud whenever possible the native populations are incited against tho Western Governments. Britain is held up as a particular enemy. The Indian Government is fully aware of these efforts and is actively
engaged in counter-measures. It cannot be said that there is no menace to India the fact is, however, that it is by no means its great as it was. The Indian Government is satisfied that if Bolshevism in India has not been, killed, it has been scotched. The position calls not for alarmist measures, but for a continuance of firm, wise and sympathetic rule. —Reuter.
