ALLIES CONTROL STRAITS

LONDON, Jan. 17
The Peace Conference has advanced the Turkish question an important step by deciding that the Allies shall control the Dardanelles and the Bosphorus.
The question of permitting the Turks to remain in Constantinople is ■not yet. settled.
The "Daily News' " Paris correspondent reports that though not finally decided, there is no doubt that the conference will adopt a resolution to allow the Sultan to remain in Constantinople.—A. and N.Z.
