STARVATION SPECTRE.
WASHINGTON, Dec. 17,
Mr Hoover, interviewed, states that 15,000,000 to 20,000,000 persons in the larger cities of Finland, Poland, and Austria are facing starvation. The United States Government Grain Corporation has large quantities of surplus brcadstuffs, which should be sold to these countries on long-time credits. Unless this is done stable government in Central Europe will break down. —A. and N.Z.
