FAT STOCK.

Messrs Alfred Buckland and Sons report:— At our weekly Westfield fat stock market we had a record yarding of beef, the total being 645 (only twice previously have we penned over 600 head), comprising 367 steers, 266 cows and heifers, and 12 bulls. Included in the entry were many lines of light, and unfinished cattle. There was a steady demand throughout, in some instances of prime and choice ox. About last week's value ruled, but generally prices were lower. Choice ox sold to £2 14/ per 1001b, prime ox £2 10/ to £2 12/, plain aad ordinary £2 7/ to £2 9/, cow and heifer beef £2 2/ to £2 10/ per 1001b. Steers ranged in price from £8 10/ to £23. Sheep again came forward in large numbers. The demand for all fat sheep continues keen at last week's quotations. Wethers, extra heavy prime £1 18/ to £2 0/3, heavy prime £1 15/6 to £1 17/6, medium to heavy prime £1 13/ to £1 15/, light and unfinished £1 3// to £1 11/; ewes, extra heavy prime £1 10/ to £1 14/3, heavy fat £1 6/ to £1 9/, lighter fat £1 2/ to £1 5/, others 9/ to £1. The yarding of lambs numbered 960, an increase of 376 on last week's large entry. There was a steady demand throughout, with values very firm at a slight advance on last week's figures. Heavy prime £1 7/6 to £1 10/9, lighter prime £1 4/6 to £1 7/, light prime £1 2/ to £1 4/, small and unfinished 16/ to £1 1/, small stores 7/ to 10/6. Fat and young calves were yarded in record numbers and were considerably in excess of requirements, consequently values were again lower. Runners made from £5 to £6 17/6; vealers, heavy £3 to £4 2/6, medium £2 2/ to £2 12/, lighter £1 1/ to £1 16/; calves, small fat 13/ to £1, fresh dropped 7/ to 12/.

There* was an extra large yarding of pigs which met with a keen demand, values being about the same as lact week's rates. Baconers, heavy £6 10/ to £7 2/, light to medJum £5 12/0 to £0 7/6; porkers, heavy U 4/ to £r> {«/, medium £3 12/6 to £4 LV, lighter £3 to £3 10/; slips, £1 18/ to £2 f)/; small weaners and suckers, £1 2/ to £1 13/, DAIRY AND OTHER STOCK!. There was a large muster of dairy and store stock yarded at Westllcid on Thursday. All classes were dull of sale except in odd cases of choice dairy cows. Best dairy coys sold at from £15 to £18 10/, second grade cowß £11 10/ to £14 10/, other dairy cows £.5 10/ to £10 10/; host springing heifevs £10 to £13 5/, others £s'to £8 10/; empty cows £5 10/ to £8 10/; two lo threo-yoar-old steers £5 10 to £8 10/; yea-1-iags to two-year-old steers £3 10/ to £5 5/; heifers, same age, £3 to £8 10/, according to quality; good calves £2 to £3; smaller calves £1 5/ to £1 15/; this season's calves 10/ to £J 4/.
