STANDARDISATION ECONOMY.
Mr McGregor is very keenly interested in the ideals of the British En-1 gineering Standards Association, branches of which are being formed throughout the world. There is already an Australian Association, and an Australasian Association's on (the point of being formed. He hopes to interest New Zealand in th e adoption of engineering standards, which will mean a big economic saving within the Empire as far as engineering project- are concerned. The primary object of standardisation was to secure interchangeability of parts, to cheapen manufacture by the elimination of waste of time and material, notably in producing a multiplicity of designs for on c and the same purpose, and to expedite delivery.
