MARSDEN SEAT.
MR CURTIS'S CANDIDATURE. Mr A. H. Curtis addressed a meeting at Poroti last night. Mr Linnell took the chair and introduced Mr Curtis as the Moderate Labour candidate for the Marsden seat. In the course of his address Mr Curlis pointed out that New Zealand had to recover from the waste of war, and develop her great resources. This could riot be done by a country divided against itself. It was necessary that the producers and wage-earners should combine for the common good and the platform upon which they could find tbe most acceptable agreement was the Moderate Labour platform. Extreme Labour views had hindered Labour, but this was a country where Labour must not be kept out of its own, and he believed, before long, New Zealand would see a strong Moderate Labour Party in tho House. The meeting received the candidate's address with frequent manifestations of agreement. A number of questions were put and answered. Mr Curtis-speaks to-night at Tangihua.
